Shearwater cottages offers unique Great Ocean Road accommodation that allows you to make the most of the surrounding walking tracks in the Otways and along the Great Ocean Road.

The newly opened coastal 'Great Ocean Walk' (marked in green on the map below) is on your doorstep at Shearwater. Walk short stretches along one of the many tracks available, or take a half day or full day walk. The photos show parts of the walk between Elliot River and Johanna Beach including some of the wreckage of the 1880's shipwreck, Eric the Red, which periodically emerges from the sand at Parker River Inlet when tide and weather conditions are right. The walk stretches 91 kms from Marengo on the outskirts of Apollo Bay, to the historic Glen Ample Homestead, where survivors of the famous wreck the Loch Ard, were taken.
